About Us

At Wee Dance, our objective is to start the process of empowering your child utilizing music and free movement.

Through fun, playful and carefully planned exercises, your child gets an early start on building their self esteem and confidence. Wee Dance instructors are highly encouraging with your child infusing just the right amounts of energy and use of interactive props that will engage your child fully making the experience interesting and magical.

The Wee Dance Program was created as an introduction to dance that focusses in on the basic requirements expected of children before they embark on a more intermediate level.

Wee Dance can be offered at daycares, preschools, and gymnastic facilities. If you are interested in a free trial class for your facility, please contact us today!

Wee Dance licensing will be available in the Fall of 2019

Shelby Kargl – FOUNDER and CEO

Hi, I'm Shelby Kargl, an entrepreneur and mother of two. I’ve been helping children learn and experience the joy of dance for over 25 years.

It has always been my goal, ever since I started my own dance studio, Westwood Academy of Dancing, in Coquitlam, BC, to share my enthusiasm and love of dance with my students. As a registered Royal Academy of Dance instructor, I am trained in classical ballet, free movement, and character dance.

After ten years of teaching and operating my school of dance, I decided to leave the industry and focus on my young and growing family.

Since my passion is dance, I couldn’t stay away from the joy of teaching for too long!  When my children were preschoolers they participated in multiple early learning programs, I realized there was a need for creative and inspiring dance & music programs for babies to preschool-aged children.

Children learn best in an open & free, play-based environment. Play is how children learn and explore and understand the world around them! It was difficult to find programs that understood the fine balance between structure and play, so I decided to create my own early-learning dance & music program and Wee Dance was born!

Wee Dance has been operating in South Surrey, BC since the fall of 2015.  My early learning programs have helped hundreds of little ones develop their confidence and body awareness, develop gross motor & fine motor skills, and most importantly have a ton of fun in the process!

Bianca Dyck

Bianca is currently completing her undergraduate degree pursuing education. She started dancing at the age of three, soon discovering it to be one of her biggest passions, along with her love for early learning and education.

Bianca trained in both Spiral Dance and Dance Effect for many years. During her training, she focused on both RAD and Cecchetti ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, stage and contemporary. Throughout ten of those years, she was part of a competitive dance team which gave her the opportunity to dance in both Canada and the United States.

While working as a teaching assistant at a local Montessori as well as teaching early learning martial arts classes, Bianca gained some experience within the early learning community.

She aspires to continue spreading her joy for dance while teaching children during their important developmental years.
